I was firmly put back in my box a while back in these pages by a Daimler owner who told me that Empress only applied to Daimlers. Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith Hooper According to Link to "www.forum-auto.com" (scroll down, down ,down) it's 1953 However as press releases from that time say that it has been a present from the people of Monaco to the wedding in 1956 I would think it could be a 1955. The "Empress Line" at least has been adopted in literature / web (e.g. Link to "www.coachbuild.com") for Rolls-Royce, too. But well that might be wrong. We have enough RRs described as Hooper Empress to continue to use the description, despite jfs' unfortunate encounter with a Daimler-ultra. We know what we mean, and it's common use elsewhere. 1953 date for this one seems common - Link to "www.edwardquinn.com" gives chassis WVH74. Seems Hooper did 13 Empress-style Silver Wraiths within the nearly 2000 total Silver Wraiths built - Link to "www.supercars.net" . |

This has nothing to do with Empress. It is a one-off 1953 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith swb Cabriolet by Hooper which was first shown on the 1953 Geneva Motor Show chassis WVH74 |
