 Actually this is a 1995+ JDM-spec Diamante (as pointed out by Ans above), not built in Australia. Australian-built export Diamantes had a longer "US style" front (and rear) bumper which incorporated parking lights, as seen here: /vehicle_675735-Mitsubishi-Verada-1996.html

JDM models had a shorter front bumper without any parking lights. This shorter bumper was also shared with the Australian Magna, but the Magna had more basic headlights and different tail-lights, rather than the projector headlights and larger tail-lights on the Diamante/Verada. In NZ, Diamantes were initially imported from Japan, before Australian imports began a few years later.

Park assist aerial on bumper is also a giveaway to JDM Diamante.
