 I've spoken to the owner of this vehicle. It's a 1996 Mitsubishi Diamante factory LHD model (I assume US Spec). It is also seen in Daybreakers (2009), and Superman Returns (2006)

It can't be a 1996 Diamante. 1997 was the first model year for this generation in the USA.

 Daybreakers and Superman Returns were both filmed in Australia, so 1996 is possible.

No, it can't be 1996. This is an export Diamante built for the US. In the US, there was no 1996 Diamante. If it was a Verada or Magna, then yes, it could be a 1996. But for Diamante it must be 1997+.
