I am quite sure it is a Mazda 929 Coupé, but cannot find a suitable image. It is not this http://lieuxdits.free.fr/mazda929coupe5.jpg but a model slightly older...

I couldn't find any Mazda 929 that matched the car, although it does resemble the 1980 Galant's front end:

It's not a Mitsubishi. I'm thinking Toyota. Something like an early 80's Carina with a japanese market front end.

EDIT : I was right ! Here's a japanese version of the 1982 Carina.

Where was this film shot, by the way ?

I say it's a A60 Toyota Carina - used Japanese imports are common in RHD African markets (Africa and Kenya are both RHD), so it's quite possible it is a Japanese spec model or is using parts from one.

NZ Carina looks the same (probably Japan spec): http://www.gpforums.co.nz/thread/326000/?s=
European A60 Carinas had no twin headlights: http://www.tacn.nl/Meetings/JAF2004/CarinaTA60groen.jpg

Secondhand imports from Japan are also common in New Zealand:
