Definately a GMC TDH "Old Look", but I am not sure of which model. |

I think we are looking at a Mack City bus. A C series, maybe a C-49. San Francisco ran many of them as did NYC. dr. g. |

Not GM's at all. Both are Mack C50DT. |

The last poster is correct; they are 1950 Mack C-50-DT's dubbed 'Bingham Macks' because the then chairman of the New York City Transit System Col. Sidney Bingham worked with Mack to design these buses exclusively for New York. Being very civil defense minded, Col. Bingham specified brackets for stretchers so the buses could be quickly converted to ambulances in the event of enemy attack. The C-50's did not fair well on the broken up streets of Brooklyn where they were first assigned not did they run very well with all hydraulic systems. |
