It's not mud on the car, it winter-dirt as salt (from the icy roads), ashes (from coal-ovens in the houses and coal-powered power stations), and a bit dust from unpaved roads.O.k., we know, that on the Philippines noone knows such "winter-dirt" ![]() P.S. Back in times of the Cold War, when The Wall still existed, you could see, when you had to wait in the wintertimes at the borders, either the German-German border or the border West-Germany-Czechoslovakia, by the amount and intensity of the "winter-dirt" on the vehicles, where they were coming from and how long they had been in the Communist world Vehicles with minor dirt just at the bottom parts, were just transit-tourists West-Berlin-West Germany. Vehicles with brown dirt (from the lignite coal) and oily smear (from the two-stoke Trabants and Wartburgs) all over, had been "fully" in the DDR for some days and vehicles covered with black dirt (from black coal) had been in Poland. I remember, how impressed we border-travellers had been once, when two cars (it was a W115-Mercedes and an Audi 100 [Typ43]) approached the border-station, which had been covered over and over completely with dark dirt, only the windscreens and the headlights were clear. The came directly from Romania. -- Last edit: 2014-06-03 20:42:47 |

Not necessary unpaved roads, asphalt roads in cities have pretty bad drainage system (if it have at all). |
