Is the finned white sedan a Morris Oxford or an Austin A60 ? Or even another badged version ? |
◊ 2014-05-28 13:47 |
White is A55 Cambridge ADO9, with a Magnette ZA in front. Blue on bridge is A35. A feast of BMCs! |

Thank you so much, dsl. |

The black saloon ain't an Oxford, it's a Wolseley. The Oxford did not have a chrome surround to the rear window, and would never have been called Series I, it was Series MO, along with the Minor Series MM and the Six Series MS. -- Last edit: 2014-05-28 15:32:03 |

And the inevitable Minx |

Looks like a 4/50 to me, short gap between front wheel arch and driver's door shut line. |

Don't quite get that, Riley was part of BMC. |

I know, everything on Bridge is a BMC product so 'strong sales in Scotland' Possibly punctuation misleading as '?' was for is it a Wolseley or Riley . -- Last edit: 2014-05-28 16:18:11 |

Wolseley subject car should be 6/80 for chrome on rear window - see comment at /vehicle_74886-Wolseley-4-50-1949.html - and because 4/50 production stopped Jan 53. |

Picture of Wolseley 4/50 from the rear. Link to "www.google.co.uk" Picture of Wolseley 6/80 from the rear. Link to "www.google.co.uk" The date is probably the deciding factor. -- Last edit: 2014-05-28 20:13:13 |

The blue in thumb is a Riley 1.5 for badge position and that shade of Riley-only blue. |

millions of people know that tune without knowing what it's called, because it was Goal of the Month/Season backing track on Match Of The Day. There's also the timelessly brilliant https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gY5rztWa1TM - I bet even jfs bops away to this on the 8-track in his Bentley..... |

No music in my Bentley, and I rarely ever listen to anything that required electricity to be used during the recording process. As we are commemorating the start of WW1, I offer this to our American participants. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTMbDwsA86E -- Last edit: 2014-05-28 23:41:56 |
