Unlike the sedans, which were made in Australia, the Scorpion coupes were imported from Japan and therefore much more expensive (import duty in 1978 in Australia was over 57%). As such, they were rare. Scorpion coupes were introduced in early 1978 in Australia, and were initially available with a 2.0L engine. The [GH] arrived in 1980, with the new 2.6L Astron which replaced the 2.0L, along with new alloy wheels and other minor styling changes.
