I don't think this is a 9000, I think it might be a White 4000, cause the 9000 has more of "ladder" style grill while this one has a split through the middle like a 4000. Here is a image of the White 4000 Short front I found off of the internet: ![]() Here is a White 9000 short front: (Credit to Opal for posting this image on the Maximum Overdrive Forum) -- Last edit: 2021-06-17 21:22:44 |

there is no such thing as a "White 4000 Short Hood", there is only the White 4000 ("Long" or Normal Hood Length), and the White 9000 (Short Hood, 90" from Bumper to back of cab) the only reason they have different grills is seemingly due to Different Options, there is a video of a 1964 produced one and it has the one with the split in the middle, and there are photos of ones pre-1967 facelift (with Box Fiberglass Fenders and new "Milk Crate" Grill) from a Brochure dated probably 1965 or 1966 that still had the slim hood and grill which dated back to the 1950s, so going off of grills on Whites is...not the greatest ID system (honestly there is no Clear way to figure out specifics aside from the length of the hood as mentioned above, beyond that the only real way to figure out what model it is in detail is to look at the Serial number, and sadly thats not really an option usually) |
