This is not an Escort, it is a 301E van with windows. There is no fuel filler behind the rear wheel arch and the back doors are van-style split vertically, not horizontally as on the estate car.

Van for Finnish is 'pakettiauto'.

The writing on the front wing (or at the drivers door) was mandatory for all commercial vehicles for some time. I couldn't find specific information about it so I'd say from 1950's to 1970's. First figure is tonnage, second is weight and third is maximum axle load. The figures had to be painted on both sides of the vehicle with 6 to 8 cm high markings.

Another thing related to Finnish law was the ability to buy a van and after some time to register it as an estate car. This was done to avoid taxes. Buying a van was considerably cheaper (even 25%) than buying an estate car. So quite a lot of vans were bought and later legally converted to estates. Some of the most popular models for conversion were Peugeot 404, Taunus 17M, Opel Rekord and Mazda 1800. Also some rare stuff like the Triumph Courier and Glas Isar. One source I found says that after owning a panel van for one year you could then add rear seats in the back and also add rear windows. Not without demands however; the rear seat had to be facing backwards, the seat had to be of hard material (eg.wood), the back rest had to be in 90 degree angle and entry had to be done from the trunk and not through rear doors...
