GodzillaFan54 ◊ 2020-12-31 17:59	That helicopter crashing during this scene wasn't planned; it was an actual helicopter accident that happened while they were filming the scene. The tail rotor accidentally touched the ground and got damaged which caused the helicopter to spin out of control and crash, the main rotor and debris narrowly missing the actors and the crew filming. Once the actors were pulled from the wreck they had to quickly ad-lib the rest of the scene as the wreckage had caught fire and a firetruck was on it's way and they didn't want the sirens to get picked up by the mic. However, the $60'000 it cost to replace the helicopter ate into a significant amount of the movie's budget. Since the only injuries were minor ones to the pilot and no one was seriously hurt, they opted to keep the crash in the film!
