Bentley Mk VI, 1946 to 1952, or Bentley R-type 1952 to 1955, Standard Steel Saloon. The only way to tell from a front view is to count the vertical shutters in the radiator grille, and neither my laptop nor my eyes are that good. Even then, the late Mk VI cars and all the R-types had the same type of radiator, so it is conclusive only if the car is an early Mk VI. A 3/4 view, or one from the rear, is the only answer. -- Last edit: 2014-04-25 21:15:51 |

I suspect a UK plate rather than French. Probably choose on basis of production figure probability. Or toss a coin. |

Mk VI - 5201 R type - 2320 The design was getting rather out of date by the time of the R-type, one of the problems being boot space, which caused the lengthening of the tail as a stop-gap. People expected to take their bags with them rather than have the valet take them by train. One of the parameters for the R-type boot was based on 4 sets of golf clubs and 3 suitcases. Presumably somebody had to wear the same clothes for the whole weekend! -- Last edit: 2014-04-26 12:05:22 |
