A Simca 1000 behind the Lancia? And I'd like to say a Peugeot 403 break as last car, but I'm very hesitant to affirm it. A DS/ID for sure on the right of the picture. Let's call this "Off Topic" and totally useless as it doesn't refer to the cars, but I like details: ∗ First of all, this scene gives us a clue on when it was shot: there is election billboards in front of the church (first poster white for the official informations, the others -colored- for the candidates). In France, these billboards are in place during the whole official electoral campaign, which means for two months before the polling. As there were 2 elections in 1967 (when the movie was shot): • legislative elections (fr) in early March, • cantonal elections (fr) in late September, I think this scene was more likely shot in August or September than between January and February .gif ";)") ∗ And second, I had friends who lived some miles away from that place, so these directional signs ring a bell: Brou is a pleasant little town and Illiers is where Marcel Proust spent some holidays as child, as narrated in his novel In Search of Lost Time. This is the crossing of the D27 and the D941, so it's in Dangeau. And good news: if the Michelin road signs have been removed, the flowers are still there and Brou is now 1 kilometer closer  |

I went to see a moto-cross event in Brou in 1973 or 74, with my younger brother and my (very patient) dad. Haakan Andersson was among the entrants. About Illiers, the place understood the importance of Proust works to the point to change the name of the village in Illiers-Combray! |
