This is in fact a 911 [993] Turbo |

This can't be a turbo because A) Clarkson would've mentioned it and B) He says it's RWD whereas Turbos are 4WD aren't they? So this is probably a Carrera 2 and (judging by the press plate) a 1997 model. |

It's a 1997 Carrera S then. Turbo bodyshell - Turbo - 4wheel drive. EDIT: But no rear wing? Back to the drawing board then. -- Last edit: 2010-07-16 17:10:09 |

Let's wait for plate decoding. |

DVLA says it's a yellow 2009 Porsche. Obviously Porsche UK still hold the plate. EDIT: Some guy on Porsche forum UK says they also put that personalised plate on a Turbo. Link to "www.911uk.com" -- Last edit: 2010-07-16 17:31:53 |

It's been a Porsche UK press car plate for magazine road test cars for 30? years - possibly back to the first 911 turbo. Reappears on a new car every 2-3 years. -- Last edit: 2010-07-16 17:38:10 |

Here it is on a 2003 car: /vehicle_36176-Porsche-911-Turbo-996-2003.html Similarly I'm doing Spooks series 5 and the numberplate on one of the cars comes back to a 2009 Infinity FX50S rather than a Nissan Patrol as Nissan held on to the plate. |

It's not the 94, it's like a 95 or 97, but not a 94. Bad boys porsche was a 94'. |

It's no Turbo, because it doesn't have a mounted rear wing. And it's no Carrera 4S, because JC said it's got RWD. So it is a 993 Carrera S! |
