According to my reference book, "Cars of the Rootes Group" by Graham Robson, this is a Hillman Husky 1954 to 1957, based upon the Mark VII Minx, still with the 1930s flathead engine. There are no mark or series numbers, the later model based upon the Audax Minx started at Series I in 1958, becoming Series II in March 1960, and Series III in August 1963. -- Last edit: 2014-02-28 16:51:40 |

Basically yes, but.... (I've got Robson too). Two points: - we need a device to separate these 54-57 Huskys from the later Imp-based models, which have no Mk/Series designation (another story for another day, but we're better off without them). Also Glass's refers to 54-57 as Mk1 and the Audax-based as S1-3 (as Robson). I sorted all the Huskys way back into this system to separate cleanly into the 3 groups which was agreed at the time with admins - I wasn't one then. The second is whether we use Phase or Mk for pre-Audax (including Minx etc). There's some support for both sides - and I'm not fussed which way we go - but weight of numbers of entries meant Phase won. |
