Posher cars (RR, Jag, Merc etc) have inconvenient bonnet mascots which could be painful ...... |

@cl82: now you have to be very strong Today, on a spare parts market I've purchased the 1968-issue of the http://www.schwacke.de/ list. And *cough* the 4-door Imp de Luxe was officially sold in Germany between 1963 and 1966, also the 2-door Minx and between 1962 and 1966 the 4-door Super Minx. Also listed are the Rapier Fastback Coupé (only the new price for 1968, no notations for used cars), the Rapier Limousine and Cabriolet (until 1967), the Alpine (until 1967, too) and the Alpine V8 (1965-1967). Vauxhall Viva de Luxe (1966-1967) and Victor Super 10 (1965-1967) Triumph Herald, Spitfire MKIII, TR4, TR4A, TR5 Pi and 2000. Of course several Jags, Rover 2000 and 2000 TC, as BMC-cars despite several Minis the Morris 1100, the 1300, the Oxford (until 1966) and the 1800 Luxe. Austins -of course mainly Mini- also 1100 and 1300, A 40 de Luxe, A 60 Cambridge, 1800 de Luxe, A110 MkII Westminster de Luxe, some Healeys, MG 1100, Midget, MGB 1800 and GT. No Rolls Royce at all. Unfortunately my free Imageshack-account is full now, so I cannot show the registration-statistics from the 1.July 1967. 994 Standard Triumph are enough to be listed, also 4528 Siata, 1774 Wartburg -more than Jaguar with 1716 cars- but just the half than 3511 Zündapp - and much more that an exotic brand, whose prices are listed (surprisingly, because there was no offical import before 1967), but no numbers of registrations: Saab -- Last edit: 2014-03-01 18:05:53 |

Sorry, that I cannot upload a pic now (plus I'm in hurry for preparing for vacations, so it will take a time), but yes, it is written in that way. I'll bring it to SCO in September ![]() |

@ingo: Believe it or not, but I actually knew that Rootes cars were available in Western Germany through some private importer or dealership. About 20 years ago, when I had access to some very old editions of "Auto Motor Sport" I happened to see an advert in an issue that was from the early 1960s or so. Sadly I forgot where this dealership was exactly located over all these years, but IIRC it was either in Frankfurt or Düsseldorf. |

@andrepa: Sorry for the late reply! I might be wrong, but I think it wasn`t Auto Becker; otherwise, I surely would have remembered it. |
