were the taillights mounted later or had already the 1973-MY them?

Sure about 250? It seems, the badge on the trunk has four digits.

The second digit doesn't look like a 3 as I thought at first.

:??: the badge looks like "250.8" or maybe "250.6" - but such a version never had existed ( http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes_W114 ) :??:

Exactly. Perhaps the fourth digit was added later?

The badge looks original - and that is the real irritation!

P.S. And it's not possible to add parts of badges later on. The three holes in the trunklid are always in the same distance.

It never exsted in the Mercedes-Benz lists for the Italian market, too !!!
Could it be a 250 S script added on a W114 or 115 ?

There was such badging as the 230.4 and the 230.6 - I think that the badge in the thumbnail might be one such badge that says '230.6' and not '250'.

But the 230.6 appeared in 1973 as MY, so it's not possible to have a 230.6 in the pre-facelift-version as here http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_W_114#Technische_Daten :??:

P.S.It has the new taillights, is there any shot, where you can see the steering wheel?

@ Ingo, I was saying that the badge might come from such a car, not necessarily that the car in question is a later model.

The badge on the boot reads 250B.

Or is it 250(.) 8?? Which might mean the 250 2.8 listed in ingo's table, possibly as a made for I version??
