I believe this is a Leyland Tiger with a Coustom Coaches body.
Here's a picture of a similar badge http://www.flickr.com/photos/daves_portfolio/5727518240/ .

The plate returns 1958 Leyland - is that accurate?

According to wikipedia the second use of the Tiger name was between 1979 and 1992 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leyland_Tiger , but according to this page Link to "www.aronline.co.uk" they were built the years 1981-91. A 80's coach seems alright with me, and not a 1958.
Could the plate originally have been used on a 1958 Leyland and then reused in the 80's?

In Australia it's much more likely that this is a 1958 Royal Tiger Worldmaster that has been rebodied.

I can agree with the earlier origins as it has the wheels used in the 50's, 60's and at least part of the 70's. But not the 80's.
The body is for certain an early 80's Custom Coaches. (They seems to get rectangular head lights towards the latter part of the 80's.)
A very beautiful coach according to my opinion.

"The bus that is going to the Museum is a 1958 Leyland Royal Tiger, fitted with a new body in 1982"
