On top a 1971 MY only (old front, old bonnet, old bumper), on the bottom a 1973 or 1974 Standard-version (new front, new bonnet, new bumpers without rubber, rectangular headlights*). Theoretically it can be a 1974-only K 70 S (basic trim line, but the 1.8 liter 100hp-engine), but this is too unlikely. *@rjluna2: if you wanted to have H4-light at your K 70, these 1972+ rectangular headlights (not to mix up with the usual early version!) were the only possibility. Back then there was no H4-version of the round headlights available (although this size became, resp.still was one of the most common standard size). -- Last edit: 2014-01-23 19:16:52 |

if the 1971-MY shall be listed, the frame has to be around the car on top. P.S. Or at best both should be listed. The dfferences between the MY are big, especially at the front (only the bonnet-trim, the grille-emblem and the main frame, where front panel and bumper are mounted, stayed the identical parts). -- Last edit: 2014-01-23 19:32:40 |

@ingo: It is my understanding that there is some sort of frame to support the headlight and behind the grille frame as part of the body that can be interchange with oblong and dual round headlights. I had my 1972 SAAB 99 with the headlights frame switch place so I have low beam inside between grille based on my own modifcation without ruining the car -- Last edit: 2014-01-23 21:51:51 |
