Do the belgian police actually use 156 or other Alfas? |
◊ 2014-03-07 15:52 |
Yes the 156 is (or was) not uncommon for police in Brussels. I am not sure if other Alfa models were used. In Belgium there are a little of everything as police vehicle, as they request offers and then anyone can provide the cars. Usually made for each town or municipality (or at least it was like that previously). There is for example a town somewhere in Flanders which uses a few Citroën Xantia. There was a scale model car made after it, even it is not a common car at all for police here. I think that the most common ones are VW vans and Opel hatchback/sedans. -- Last edit: 2014-03-07 15:57:38 |

Thank you for the answer about scale models I own a 1:43 VW Golf IV of belgian police with this livery, it was part of a collection of police cars sold at newsstands, I think that is more common than the Xantia? Ah ok now I read the other part of your message -- Last edit: 2014-03-07 16:00:12 |

Golf is probably common too, though that I see more often Jetta here in Brussels. |

That Xantia model was actually from the Etterbeek Police, in the Brussels region, but the model makers forgot that the livery was bilinguial. If it is this Golf from a Fabbri series, then it's actually dutch, not belgian. Link to "www.sgurz.it" |

I guess I mixed it with something else then. Funny how Google Images gives results with an Alfa Romeo for a search on a Xantia police car because of this page |
