I'd say, it's neither a Samba or a regular T1-Bus - it's a later T2. Old bumper and new air-intakes in the c-pillar was only in model-year 1972 (8/71-7/72). |

Period US sales brochures called them Station Wagon or even Kombi ( it seems it was related with the type of seating and number of places ). |
