Yes, Volvo never made a convertible version, all convertibles were aftermarket additions. |

A small correction: From the beginning the 1800 model was designed to be produced as a convertible as well ! There was a small production of about 29 convertibles made by Volvoville , Long Island in the sixties. These were produced with "permission" as Volvo wanted to test the market. But Mr Engellau, the director of Volvo at the time then got worried about safety issues and in order to protect the fame of Volvo cars the project was cancelled. |
