That's the pier of Central of Hong Kong, built before Second World War. In 1960-70s, this pier was a general bus terminal of CMB. Since the early 1990s, the pier had been wrecked, rebuilding as the Exchange Square today. Central is on the Hong Kong Island, as centre of business district of Hong Kong. And in 20th century the bus service of Hong Kong Island was provided by CMB. (KMB as Kowloon and rural areas of Hong Kong.) Usually the buses of CMB in 1970s were Guy Arab V. (Daimler CVG as KMB.) The one in this photo is one of them. Nowadays, the NWFB replaces the position of CMB, providing the bus service of Hong Kong Island. -- Last edit: 2013-11-25 20:25:25 |
