There is no Camry-taxi in Japan.

And? Do you think there are still 20-year-old 1993 Camry taxis in Australia either? The vehicle is *dressed* as a taxi for the movie. It could be done in Japan just as easily.

EDIT: due to the 15" alloy wheels on this car it's either a top of the line Camry "Ultima" (4-cyl), or more likely, a "Camry Vienta" (V6).

I think he is just adding extra info. And as far as I know, those are out style street lights. And road crossings. Japan does it differently. The ped-cross ones especially.

What I'm saying is, the fact that Japan doesn't have Camry taxis is not enough reason to discount Japan as being the filming location, as any vehicle can easily be dressed as a taxi. This makes it a completely pointless comment. We never had this generation of Camry used as taxis in Australia either.

It's your comment that's pointless, actually. Why would a japanese production crew dress up a rare Toyota Scepter (because that's how the wide-body Camry was called in Japan) as a taxi, when they have bucketloads of available Toyota Crown Comforts, the japanese boxy taxi par excellence since the mid 1990s ?
