RA Colts were fully imported - Australian production began in late 1982 with the RB series, which went on sale October 18, 1982. Only about 2500 were sold per year (or 5000 in total), partly due to import restrictions/quotas at the time. Sales increased exponentially once local production began in '82. Mitsubishi predicted up to 25,000 sales per year, but it never came close to that figure.
