The grille and headlights (but not the bumper) are from a Chrysler by Chrysler CH series, the upmarket version of the same VH series Valiant. Davez621 - sadly the plate no longer comes up on CarJam, but it may have been a fake private plate. It has to be between 1971 and 1973. |

A New Zealand assembled VJ Valiant Regal 770 from around 1974/75. Chrysler NZ (Todd Motors) decided to use the twin headlights and grill from the CH Chrysler by Chrysler and the nose cone and indicator lenses from the VH Valiant. These VJ fronts are unique to NZ. Front seats were also the same style as CH Chrysler, 2 big buckets that form a bench seat. All NZ Regals had either a black or tan vinyl roof as standard. Still Australian origin, just tweaked for the New Zealand market by the assemblers. |
