Toyota's one of those companies that sounds like it uses made up words. What does "Corolla" or "Camry" mean?

Corolla is latin for small crown. Camry is an anglicised version of the Japanese word kanmuri, meaning crown.

Really? I've learned something new today :) Actually that makes sense because there used to be the Toyota Crown. What about Avensis or Celica?

Don't forget the Corona :)

Celica is derived from the latin word coelica, meaning heavenly or celestial. I'm less sure about Avensis, but it too seems to be derived from latin. In this case the word avens, which could mean cheerful, willing or eager - but also anxious or covetous

I find Starlet very strange. Who would name a car after a tiny bird? :??:

What bird do you know named Starlet?

Wikipedia says Auris comes from aurum, Latin for gold.

kegare a écrit What bird do you know named Starlet?

Gamer probably means starling - which isn't a tiny bird, but a mid-size one.

Plate VGN520 returns: 1998 "Getaway II" trim.

There are still about 5800 of this generation Tarago registered in Australia (meaning about 1 in 5 sold is still on the road).
