Our Northkorean guide has told us that without any hesitations- and has professed, that this purpose shall be included in such constructions in other countries, too. Not unplausible indeed, if you remind all the Cold War-features, we had in the past. As for example the Link to "www.google.de" When the invasion would have come (of course from the East, the invasions of the Russians and the other Commies incl.the East Germans), a plenty of bridges, roads, railroad-tracks and so on would have been blown up. In the well-known http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elbe_Tunnel_%281975%29 had existed barriers, too (mounted in April 1989, dismantled in 2000), some 107 ton-heavy concrete-blocks above the tunnel portals.
