How do you know this was called Chrysler and not Mitsubishi?? We have had other Mitsubishi's in Australia (not only in this movie) |

All early Sigmas were sold as Chryslers in Australia, later ones were sold as Mitsubishis |

This model (GE?) is definitely the same model that was manufactured in Adelaide, Australia and sold as a Chrysler. However, this film is from New Zealand isn't it? The grille badge looks different to the Aussie-built Sigmas and although it's hard to see properly, it appears to be missing the small badge ('CHRYSLER') normally fitted to the leading edge of the bonnet (RH side when viewed from the front). Due to New Zealand's less stringent import laws, models that were often built and sold in Australia often came to NZ direct from Japan in their Japanese guise - I think this may have happened with this Sigma. Note this car was also sold in the UK as the Mitsubishi Lonsdale (perhaps named after the suburb where the engines were built, Lonsdale, South Australia). |

This is a NZ assembled Mitsubishi - sold here as a Sigma. NZ did not get the Australian Chrysler versions of this. -- Last edit: 2012-12-04 20:05:39 |

Yes a Galant Σ ('Σ' for Sigma, not 'E' lol) Assembled by Todd Motors in Porirua, NZ. Don't believe any NZ assembled Mitsubishi's wore the Chrysler badge. The last of the Rootes cars did though (Hunter etc) which were also assembled by Todd co. |
