The internet is not always a reliable source. Many people refer to these cars just as Crown Victoria, and that works in a 1950:s context where it´s not necessesary to keep them apart from these:

So Fairlane is essential to have in the name, otherwise we´ll have disorder in the database :)

Well, there are old and new Impala for example, so separate them is not mandatory :D But if its real name contains Fairlane, then lets use it. But as lots of sources (e.g. Wikipedia) list them as just Crown Victoria I am not sure of what is right...

It was one of the models in the new Fairlane series, introduced for 1955:

Wikipedia mentions the Crown Victoria on a page about Ford Fairlane, as a version of the Fairlanes which is correct. On that page there´s a link to Crown Victoria and on that page there´s no mention about the connection to Fairlanes in 1955-56. Wikipedia has got many advantages, but also lots of errors.

That metal post strip in the middle and over the roof makes it a Crown victoria some have a Plexieglass in the front part of the roof some don't, it's pre-sunroof.
