As long as there's a large number of them, then they can blow 'em up all they want (although I must confess I'm unsure how many Mustang II's exist). In all fairness, at the time they filmed this episode the Mustang II was brand new (this one was anyway), so it's not like they were destroying an old classic car. They were trashing a new one. Even if the episode was a later one the car was still from the same decade the show was made in, and thus in ready supply. -- Last edit: 2009-09-16 11:44:51 |

This is not a 1974, which had a horizontal bar across the parking lights. Also, the grille in '74 was sunken back into the opening, while for '75, it was moved out nearly flush with the housing. It is a 1975 (or possibly an early '76. By mid-'76, the cars had gone "black-out" up front.) -- Last edit: 2009-09-18 02:17:06 |

Poverty wheels and painted (not chrome) filler cap on burning car. Possibly also different format sidemarkers in lower side trim strip and of trim highlight in front bumper. |

Kooshmeister there were about 1.5 million Mustang II's produced, but the majority were made in 1974, the 4th best year for Mustang sales in the marque's history. Only 1979 has come close since. |
