Starliner ? |

1955. Believe I can see a "B" pillar so not a hardtop. Appears to have Regal trim with no front fender top ornaments which takes President out. (The top President trim line was called "State" rather than "Regal" and included the fender ornaments as standard.) To tell Commander vs Champion would need to see if there is a fender nameplate (the Commander had one but the Champion did not). Unfortunately, the man is standing directly in front of where the nameplate would be. -- Last edit: 2013-07-25 21:09:46 |

Commander 47 unfortunatly no others shots of it and strangely it didn't appear in the movie at all but the white Starliner did .. /vehicle_99074-Studebaker-Starliner-1953.html I assume perhaps this was from the original footage with Eric Stolz as Marty and when they reshot the movie with Michal J. Fox this wasn't available anymore and got the other one instead... well at least this is my theory... perhaps just name it of what was more common ? -- Last edit: 2013-07-25 21:31:20 |

I'm afraid I've aged 10 years since I was Commander 47! We don't normally just list what is most common. If we don't know and can't figure it out, we use "unknown" to avoid errors. |

There are 3 Studebakers that I know have the Regal trim which are Champion, Commander and Lark. If someone knows more please let me know. |
