Une décapotable peut ne pas être un cabriolet (qui est toujours à deux portes), et un cabriolet peut avoir non pas une capote mais un hard top. So, if "cabriolet décapotable" is the most frequent and sounds pleonastic, the terms are not exactly redundant. Anyhow, that is what I'm figuring out.
