I think it has the wide number plate light? 1964 in Australia as well. 1964-67 1200/1300/1300 Deluxe depending on the year, Australian made (Clayton)? Based on a statement that 'bright colours' were available from 1967, I would guess 1967 1300 Deluxe. Was the canvas sunroof an aftersales market option or was it in the official extra-option-range of VW Australia back then? @tore-40: tomorrow I'll visit a VW Käfer-meeting. Let's see, if they let me park on the official place... .gif ";)") Normally the Käfer is not my thing, but there will be a small spare parts market - and the meeting is in my village http://www.kaeferstammtisch-rhein-ruhr.de/include.php?path=news&contentid=90 Directly nearby the place, where I enjoy to swim at hot days. Which I will do for sure. Tomorrow there shall be 30 degrees again (actually it's just the 5th(!) hot summer day this year over here  ) |

@tore-40, @rpcm: I'm just back from this small meeting (I probably will go there again in one hour or so, because I want to have annother swim again) and one still existing prejudice was confirmed as a fact: nearly no VW Käfer/Beetle is strictly kept or restored in original condition. So our discussions about the originality about Beetle-details shouldn't be too eager, especially not, if the movie with the specific car, the discussion is about, was made, when the car was already several years old. |
