Used for a prison breakout. Nothing for JNY 838K on check sites, but genuine Nov-Dec 71 Glamorgan issue. |

I think I had something like this as a Matchbox toy, except it had four axles and the first two were supposed to be for steering. |

It also reminded me of the Corgi 1127 Bedford Simon Snorkel fire engine which was a great toy. |

^ no, this truck was made by Dodge of Britain (A.K.A Kew Dodge). |

shouldn't it be listed as "New Dodge" or model origin USA build in UK to avoid any confusion ? -- Last edit: 2014-07-18 20:30:16 |

No, of course not. Should we then for example separate Ford into Ford (USA) as make and Ford (Germany) as make in order to avoid confusion? It was informally known as Kew Dodge after the plant being located in Kew, UK. And it was a UK design (originally by Commer), and had nothing to do with the American Dodge trucks. They're not meant to be confused because the design of the vehicles, the engineering and the model naming are completely unrelated to their American counterparts. -- Last edit: 2014-07-18 20:41:15 |
