Rondo ◊ 2011-02-19 08:41	Here's the deal. I've studied the shot from the film. There is a very quick peek of the driver's side of the car as it passes. The trim is Ranch Wagon, with a thin chrome strip that begins at the midway point of the headlight bezel, dips after the driver's door, then rises back to the same level as the front fender to meet the top of the taillight. All other wagons, except the Country Squire which has a wood decal, have a broader spear that begins along the top of the front fender, dips at the same spot as the Ranch, but rises only partway to the midway point of the taillight. The only problem is that the wagon in question has four doors. My records show that all Ranch Wagons were two-doors in 1956. I was confused, but I happened upon an ad for a 4-door Ranch Wagon, and sure enough, there was the model, and even color, from the movie. The model name in the ad is 1956 Ford Custom 500 4-Door Ranch Wagon 6 Pass. I am positive this is the model in the film. I think it's safe to add this model name. -- Last edit: 2011-02-22 06:58:10

Peggy Sue ◊ 2020-08-09 09:14	This is actually a 4 door, 6 pass. Country Sedan, not a Ranch. I own one and you can tell by the side door chrome trim shape that it's a Country Sedan.
