[4590BT75] is a 1953 registration. |

Not a 1953 roof for sure. |

A fake plate, then. |

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/58panel_colors/cover.jpg 1958 brochures don't show indicators. The first to appear are on '60 brochures. Were those on the pic local add-ons? |

According to the brochure in the samba.com site, this roof is a 1955+ one. What other clues give this model a 1958 MY? @DidierF : could that T1 be the one of some bad guys who would have change the plates to escape the cops? The front one doesn't seem well attached... But I think you would have noticed that "action" in the movie... -- Last edit: 2015-03-12 03:32:27 |

Ys, it's the bad guys'. I wasn't the one to suggest —and even less inscribe— this 58 date. For the moment let's stick to 55. |

(By the way it was "my first movie" on IMCDb.) |

Indicators were fitted to USA export before European models. Also the sedan had the same indicators as Kombi, installed at the side of the fender (and not on top of fenders). As far as I know VW indicators to Europe arrived in 1960. |
