1966-68 "Mk2" door shields (although we don't use Mk2 title on imcdb). I think HK kept Hillman brand, not Sunbeam rebranding. And an early green Mini Clubman behind. |

Did you know, dsl, that Hillman Super Minxes were for a short while assembled in Italy by the famous body boulder Touring ? |

@e225 - thanks for the alert, but yes and we've got one - /vehicle.php?id=351704 . I also wonder if they might have done a few Mk1 Humber Sceptres as well - /vehicle_269910-Humber-Sceptre-1963.html - although no reference found. |

No idea, but the Sceptre used in that Italian movie could have had the original tail lights removed using Lancia Aurelia Touring ones, maybe after an accident. The point is that in an old 1962 magazine (Quattroruote) I read that Touring was assembling the Hillman Super Minx and building the Sunbeam Venezia. I am not sure even the Sunbeam Alpine was assembled. I clearly remeber in late 1975 a wrecked dark blue Hillman Minx in Turin with somewhere the script "Touring". -- Last edit: 2013-03-17 08:06:21 |
