The proportions are a joke, but details - twin exhausts, filler cap, lights and position to number plate, rear spoiler, rear wing bulge, wire wheels (though wrong design), fat tyres, front wing indicator - fit reasonably well. Filler cap position is interesting as the first production GTO - #3223GT - had this filler position for the press launch in Feb 62 before filler was shifted to corner of bootlid soon afterwards for this car and on all later GTOs - might therefore be either a casual error here or a very specific attempt to depict 3223GT at this point in its life. However there was no rear spoiler at the launch event, although this was also fitted very soon afterwards. Compare this BBR 1-18 model of the press launch stage http://www.diecastlegends.com/Images/Products/XLarge_Images/BBR1803B_2.jpg ; I've come across different descriptions of what rear vent may or may not have been fitted at that point. -- Last edit: 2013-03-06 03:47:56
