Seeing as how 1997 was the first year that the NYPD ordered the CV as their regular patrol vehicle in a mass quantity and it was also the first year that the white paint scheme came as standard, I'm sure the production would have tried to make this one look like it's real life counterpart if it was a 1997. Of course, that's just me speculating.
