Zil is the make of the truck. MMZ was called one special factory which produced the dump-truck bodies, and mounted them on ZIL chassis, but the cars were called ZIL-164 MMZ-585 (IMHO the truck should be catalogued under Zil; MMZ-585 is the model of the dumper body). The specialized trucks were normally made outside of the chassis factory and the cars had it named (Zil + mmz). |
