Incorrect. 1992-1996 Ford Econoline [E-350] by the grille. |

You are probably correct. I wrote the information for another of the Police buses from the Tunnelbanepolisen (similar to British transport police) as they often used their vans in movies, posing as Swat team units. And I didn't know that Tunnelbanepolisen had any Ford Vans... I wonder if Econoline is the name in Sweden. In Sweden at least Chevrolet vans are registered as only G3500 or similar. And Ford TriStar of course. |

I have checked around. The Traffic department had a Ford Tristar TSE 350 and I looked at this scene and indeed it reads "Trafikpolisen" on the doors. A know that a lot of these police vans and also some tow truck are registered as Ford Tristar. Don't know if that is the same as an Econoline. http://www.utryckningsfordon.se/fordonstyper/9448.jpg |

They're the same. For some reason, vans in Sweden (American most of the time) get reg'd as the body builder instead of the make. -- Last edit: 2013-01-06 03:29:12 |

There are however some Ford E-350 on this site that looks like this one, so what is the correct name? And, what do the site say about what name should be used? And, whats the difference between a Club Wagon E-350 and a Econoline E-350? /vehicle_361376-Ford-Club-Wagon-E-350-1997.html -- Last edit: 2013-01-06 08:05:49 |

The vans marked just "Ford E-350" are either 1999+ models or ones we can't pinpoint a year on (badging changed in 1998-1999) and a "ClubWagon E-350" was usually a 15 passenger extended van. "Econoline E-350" was just a cargo van or downgraded version of the 15 pass van. |

So after 1999 the name changed from Econoline E-350 to E-350? I'm just asking because as I said, I have acually mostly seen these registered as Ford E-350 and hade never heard the name Econoline earlier. But what does the site rules say about these kind of problems (this isn't the only problem with different naming on make and/or model depending on where they are sold. |

Correct. The "Econoline" name was dropped in 1999 for just "E-350" for the rest of the run. Most likely the vans you've seen were just registered with the chassis code instead of the make as well. As for issues like this, Econolines just have the additional info with the model name. Example: this should be marked as "1992 Ford Econoline Tristar [E-350] ." -- Last edit: 2013-01-06 09:33:13 |

Well, I don't have the plates for this so I dont know if it is a TriStar, but most likely it is as almost all ford special vehicles in Sweden are Tristar. Some of them (tow trucks) are built on Ford Cutaway |

We had a similar case with Chevrolet/GMC vans which were registered with their full chassis number (starting by G20 for example, followed by other things) |

Tried JLB347 and it is a Suzuki. Maybe someone else can decipher the plate. |
