I think it's just a fake plate. Season 3 episode 6 was made in 1995, according to the IMDB, and this doesn't correspond to any numbering system in use then. |

It was more than probably a coincidence, but the production used a AB12 CDE format for those future plates, the same one the DVLA would use in real life a few years later. |
