It's not a 1986 model, because these fiberglass bumpers were introduced in 1987 for the Wolfsburg Edition. I can't tell if this one is a Wolfsburg Edition since it's too dark to see if it has the badge or not. If it's not, then it would probably be newer than 1987. If it was exactly a 1987 model, would it only be a Wolfsburg Edition if it has a fiberglass bumper? |

Very dark, Steve... but yes, 1987 only, by the looks (Wolfsburg Edition would be the first to have these, MY 1987, while the VW badge in the grille would be larger MY 1988+ as previously stated by @130rapid) |
