Well, I'm thinking there were two 1996-98 (pre facelift) Clarus in some EU countries: the first one, introduced somewhere in 1996/early 1997 depending on the country, didn't have the full length name script on the trunk but had a reflector (see the one in Rush Hour 3), and was called Credos in Spain (1996-97), whereas somewhere during 1997, probably towards the end of the year, they had it (like the above example), and in Spain they switched to Clarus name*, because I found this: https://www.flickr.com/photos/coopey/36302404020/ And it's pre-summer 1998 facelift. So I believe there was a minor update before the major facelift. Never heard of this, well, has been ages since I last saw a Clarus Sedan (I rarely see a Wagon survivor, and in Italy the majority of them were Wagons), and I'm not even sure I ever saw a pre-1998 facelift example in person, since I didn't even remember that the pre-restyling was sold here before checking (here was introduced in January 1997).. *I'd say directly for 1998, since in the sales lists I linked there are no 1997 registered Clarus and no 1998 registered Credos If I'm reading correctly. -- Last edit: 2020-10-28 12:50:50 |
