Similar to this Bedford WHG |

Just out of plain curiosity, what makes it a "Ford unknown"? |
|

It has the same wheels as the Ford Model BB, but no guarantees. Emphasis on 'unknown'. The Bedford has a similar cabin but the fenders don't match. |

I don't think it's a Bedford or a Ford/Fordson. Unfortunately the radiator, which would identify it, is off shot; it could be a smaller Leyland, Albion, Dennis ... |

...its a Star Flyer, registered as 042 CF, owned at the time by Jack Mulley..hence the signwriting to the vehicle, who drove it in this episode...the vehicle was originally a box van and he restored it as this flat bed. -- Last edit: 2012-12-10 12:05:45 |

@2491tj: Actually http://www.mikesbuspages.com/historiccommercials.htm. Yes, it is definitely a trade plate; note the trade plate licence above the plate. |

I'm amazed that nobody has mentioned that this vehicle and the Gilford were both owned by Jack Mulley, and anything about the bus company Mulley's of Ixworth (Mulleys Motorways), repository of so many weird and wonderful vehicles over the years. -- Last edit: 2013-01-28 12:57:01 |

UR 6962 also appeared as a background vehicle in episode 5.13, 'Time on my Hands'. |
