It's an US-spec 1962+ 220 SE and Convertible rather than Cabriolet due to its US-spec. |

Sometimes, I believe some images is moved away a tad too quickly on this page. I do understand that this is a [W111.023] as this is the only option at the date of the film, but to differ Cabriolet versions by names seems a bit rediculous especially as they all were made by Mercedes themselves in Germany. According to this Mercedes-Benz (official!) homepage http://wiki.mercedes-benz-classic.com/index.php/Kategorie:W110/W111/W112 it's a 220 SEB Cabriolet [W111.023], version W111/3. At least this is what I'm going to believe until I'm proven wrong... |

We've the US spec cars as "Convertible" since that's how they were sold there, not as Cabriolet. But also the UK ones were called Convertible: Link to "www.ebay.com" so not a very solid distinction, but I wouldn't call them all Cabriolet. ^ That site has "wiki" in the link, so rather than a official site it will be Mercedes Benz enthusiasts. |
