And a green 406 or 407 behind, plus another 401 or 403 on right. There used to be a Bristol collector in somewhere like Worcestershire who hoarded scrap/derelict Bristols - possibly on an old market garden property, maybe called Brian - and offered a spare parts service. Occasionally featured in classic car magazines 10-20 years ago - perhaps this is from his collection. |

Presumably the Italian cars were 401s with superleggera bodies by Carrozzeria Touring, of which 6 were made. A 'barn find' example seems to have been sold by Coy's in 2010. Another (something like LLU 923?) used to live in Pimlico, owned by a woodworking military man I knew (1972). Episode 1.03 I guess to be the one where Lee Hurst gets quite involved with members of the BOC, getting a ride in a Bristol (406) Zagato and having something like a windscreen wiper knob come off in his hand. Six examples of that desirable 130bhp car were made, also. |
