VK56DDV = September 2006 9-3 AERO 210 BHP AUTO. |

The plate might say that it's an Aero V6; the car exterior says different: The V6 had twin exhausts. So the VK56 DAU should be just a 2.0 4-cyl. Aero |

I'll remove the V6 from the title but I think the 'star' car alternates between the real VK56DAU and VK56DDV. I also deliberately chose the main as it looks like it has different rims from the rest of the pics (including that rear view) so was the one image where it might be the right car. |

The cars have different plates, but from the thumbs provided, I can't see the differences you mentioned. Wheels (17" 5-spoke twin, ALU50), rear spoiler and rear bumber are correct for the 2.0 Aero (VK56DDV-plate) The 2.8 Aero had usually different wheels (17" 5-spoke, ALU59) and a twin exhaust. So far, I can't see the correct car for the VK56DAU-plate. The MX03LZL is correctly decorated for the Vector trim. |

Here's two more frames from the scene in the main image (showing the different rims and now I know what to look for the second tailpipe on the right): |

Now that's the V6 Aero (ALU 59, twin exhaust)! Two car, two plates - but well mixed up. Why? Any idea? -- Last edit: 2016-01-04 19:22:38 |

This problem is commonly due to time of filming, the major problem with showbiz is that the availability of certain props/access to filmsets/weather etc. may affect the show's continuity and when things are filmed. VK56 DAU first appears in the series 11 episode Suffer The Children, which was filmed in around November 2006, Peripheral Vision, (The final episode where VK56 DAU is involved in the car chase) was filmed in January 2007, on a day where VK56 DAU probably wasn't available, either because it had been sold onto to another customer by SAAB or was being used for a different TV show that day, meaning VK56 DDV had to step in with false plates. It's not noticeable at first because the editors did a superb job at hiding any tell-tale signs that this was the case. (apart from when the forgot to switch the plates in 11.07 ) |
