The pic was shot out of a Golf II. P.S.rjluna2: in the early 80ies it ws not possible to produced blue-flashing electroluminescent diodes. For that reason, the late Golf I, the and the early Jetta I and Passat/Santana [32B] had a yellow diode as flashlight-signal ( http://static.pagenstecher.de/uploads/9/98/98d/98d0/CIMG3675.JPG ). As the German regulations say, that this lamp has always shine blue, but it wasn't possible to mount a conventional blue bulb in the instrument, these cars had a special permission to have yellow control-light. That was before the invention of blue LEDs. The one I got the Brazilian version of 1988 Volkswagen Fox did have the blue LED for the high beam indicator on my instrument panel. My guess at that time, they did made the phosphor doped on the die making the yellow light with the dyed blue expoy. I have one in my collection .gif ";)") |

Well, if you visit classic car and spare parts markets, you need thousands of cash and a truck, for bringing home all the light-related stuff, you can find there. All lighting manufacturers were also very big in merchandising. Too much to collect it all... |
